What Does "Phygital" Mean?

Every artwork on Peculets exists simultaneously in two dimensions. A painting, sculpture or limited physical piece is linked to a Non-Fungible Token (NFT) on the blockchain at the moment of its creation. The physical object and the digital token travel through time together — bought, sold, transferred and inherited as an inseparable unit. Peculets calls this a phygital artwork: physical and digital, indivisible.

Every Peculets artwork carries a stable, permanent ID in the format PE-ART-YYYY-NNNN — a unique identifier that never changes, even as ownership does.

For Artists

Peculets gives artists more than just a sales platform. It gives them a lasting stake in their work.

• Mint on the blockchain. When an artist lists a new work, an NFT is created automatically via Crossmint — no crypto wallet setup required. The artist receives a confirmation email with the on-chain token ID and transaction hash.
• Royalties on every resale. When a work is resold, the original artist automatically receives a royalty — currently 10% of the resale price — recorded in a transparent ledger and withdrawable at any time.
• Control the resale margin. Artists and the platform define the maximum markup. Any excess is automatically blocked at checkout — protecting market value.
• Gallery mode. Works not for direct sale appear with full details and provenance, but show an enquiry form instead of a buy button — ideal for museum pieces or pre-auction presentations.
• Public artist profile at /author/{username} with biography, photo and complete catalogue.
• Community profile at /member/{username} with collection, created works and ownership history.

For Collectors

Buying art on Peculets feels familiar — like any modern e-commerce experience. What happens next is unique in the traditional art trade.

• Verified ownership on the blockchain. After purchase, the collector is registered as owner both in Peculets and on-chain. The NFT is transferred to their wallet — an external EVM-compatible address or a Crossmint custodial wallet.
• Full provenance at a glance. Every artwork page shows a complete timeline: minted, sold, resold, transferred — every event with date and type, permanent and immutable.
• Two delivery options. At checkout, collectors choose between physical delivery (art shipping flat rate) or secure storage — digital ownership with professional custody of the original.
• "My Collection" dashboard. All owned works with NFT status, artwork ID and provenance. Artists additionally see created works, royalty balance and profile editing.
• Resell with one click. List owned works directly on the platform. The permitted price range is displayed; the artist royalty is credited automatically.
• Join the community at checkout — make your collector profile visible in the member directory and receive a profile page.
